When asked “When did you know that you’ve made it?” by Alexa, Lady Gaga responds, “I still don’t know I’ve made it. Ya know for me it’s not about a goal or making it or anything like that, it’s about feeling like I can sustain a real career with a real true fan base that stands by me and I stand by them. I really can’t stress my fans enough because that’s where my renewed spirit has come from with this new album. When something does really well and things are going well in your life you think ‘oh god, something bad’s gonna happen’ right? But I sort of woke up one day and I had topped The Fame and it’s because of you [the fans].”

With the re-release of The Fame as The Fame Monster is included eight new tracks and a delux-edition with the Book of Gaga. She says she wanted to have a few different versions of the release so that years from now people could go to the record store on the corner and look for the collector’s item they missed. She’s also a big fan of David Bowie and says, “I used to sit in my apartment for hours and do his make-up on myself over and over again.” She also says of her new release that she doesn’t “consider it to be a re-release, I really consider it to be a body of work on its own; it’s a complete finished entity.”

When asked what the best piece of advice she’s ever been given, she replied, “You only have one set of parents.”

ssshhhh don’t tell anyone… but the song track Dancer In The Dark by Lady Gaga off of her upcoming The Fame Monster re-release is leaked! I’m not going to tell you where, but I’ll give you a hint… it has something to do with ship masts. (you gotta be an idiot if you don’t know what I’m talking about!)

after looking for lady gaga the fame monster tracklisting quite a few times, and even trying tracklisting lady gaga the fame monster and only getting a few hits of what I was actually looking for, i stumbled upon a goldmine.

i’m not sure if i’m doing a service for the fans or for the artist here.. being an artist myself, i can understand the need to keep the album under wraps until its release. but being a fan of music i know there’s gotta be SOMEthing we can hear, i mean… we just can’t help ourselves!

Happy hunting.

Lady Gaga’s Monster Ball Tour

On November 23rd 2009 (just a few weeks away!) famed pop diva Lady Gaga will re-release her album The Fame with new tracks entitled The Fame Monster. As her description of the upcoming Monster Ball Tour (a replacement tour for her concaelled tour with Kanye West due to lack of ticket sales) goes, she says it’s an “electro-pop opera”. The avante-garde clad vocalist and performer stated her fans will not only be receiving a rock concert but more her interpretation of Broadway. As MTV puts it, “Imagine her bloody VMA performance taken to the next level.” Lady Gaga outfits MTV VMA with grace, I say..

In her own words,

“The basic philosophy of the show is theatrical and that’s what opera is — it’s an ostentatious, over-the-top interpretation of a story. So that’s what pretty much my whole life is, but that’s what the show is.”

As such, Lady Gaga says the theme of her forthcoming tour centers around evolution, literally. She told MTV, “I begin as a cell and I grow and change throughout the show and it’s also done in what now is becoming my aesthetic, which is, you know, it’s part pop, part performance art, part fashion installation — so all of those things are present.”

Battling demons is the main theme of her re-release. Many of the tracks are titled The Insert-Vice-Here Monster, signifying her stresses over leading such a heavy celebrity lifestyle. “It’s a story,” she told MTV and further said, “It’s me battling all my monsters along the way. I’m playing all the music from The Fame, all the music from The Fame Monster. And the stage that I designed with the Haus is a giant cube that sits. Imagine you were to hollow out a TV and just break the fourth wall on a TV screen. It forces you to look at the center of the TV. It’s my way of saying, ‘My music is art.’ ”

But she chose this lifestyle, didn’t she? And promoting her work, doesn’t it mean she’s even promoting the demons she is battling? There is an obvious correlation between Lady Gaga’s music and Eminem’s. It’s almost as if Dr. Dre had a hand here as well… the Lady Gaga outfits MTV VMA previewed for us will most likely lead to her donning a shark-head mask with a severed arm hanging out of the mouth if we are lucky!
