Mia, Ronan Farrow Tweet Anti-Woody Allen Remarks During Golden Globes

The Farrows’ distaste for Allen continues every year as they are confronted with his ongoing success as a filmmaker. While the Academy and friends of Allen view his artistic endeavors to be the focal point of their association with Allen, ex-girlfriend Mia Farrow and son Ronan Farrow have a different agenda as they go to social media to display their disapproval.

“Missed the Woody Allen tribute – did they put the part where a woman publicly confirmed he molested her at age 7 before or after Annie Hall?” Tweeted Ronan, and later retweeted by Mia.

Mia had her own initial reaction at first, saying “Time to grab some icecream & switch over to #GIRLS” during the Cecil B. Demille award for Allen at the Globes.

Then Monday morning, she again tweeted:

“A woman has publicly detailed Woody Allen’s molestation of her at age 7. GoldenGlobe tribute showed contempt for her & all abuse survivors”

Following up with a link to a Vanity Fair article detailing the alleged molestation and a plethora of other family problems as outlined by Mia and her 8 children,

Robert Rodriguez Takes From Dusk Till Dawn To TV

Fans of Robert Rodriguez will be happy to know that the famous director will be taking his 1996 cult film to television. Rodriguez has high hopes for his show on his new El Rey tv network saying, “It is seeing something that you’ve never seen before, this Mesoamerican mythology of demon culture and these vampires that are not your traditional vampires.”

Director Robert Rodriguez has adapted his cult 1996 film into From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series, premiering this year on Rodriguez’s own El Rey Network. The series expands on the film, adding new characters and plotlines to the story of two bank robbers — and the family they hold hostage — as they try to survive against vampires.
“We see things that led up to events in the film, and much deeper character motivations and storylines to sort of launch into the new story that we’re doing,” Rodriguez told BuzzFeed. “The film was a short story. This is the novel version.”
D.J. Cotrona and Zane Holtz will star as Seth and Richie Gecko, pictured here. The roles were originated by George Clooney and Quentin Tarantino, who also wrote the script, making these big shoes to fill.

Here’s Why You Shouldn’t Watch ‘The Wolf of Wall Street’

I watched The Wolf of Wall Street the other night and afterwards there was one thought in my mind: If I run into any friends who mention it to me anytime soon, I’m going to say, “I don’t think you should go see The Wolf of Wall Street.”

I’m not going to say it’s because of the nudity or the treatment of women. I’m not going to say it’s because of the overuse of drugs. And I’m definitely not going to say that it’s because it glorifies boiler room trading scams. I’m going to say, “because it’s a waste of three hours.”

This movie is basically the underdeveloped, uncreative lovechild of Glengarry Glen Ross and Fear And Loathing In Las Vegas. There is so much that could have happened that never did. There is so much that deserved a closer look that got overshadowed by long scenes of our main characters being stupid on ludes. It’s not funny, it’s not exciting and it’s nothing that anyone will ever aspire to be. Sure, we all want to be rich and many people enjoy doing drugs, but that’s a scenario we’ve seen a billion times already. What’s worse is that we know how the story ends since it’s based on a memoir of someone’s actual life. You could read the wikipedia article on Jordon Belfort and have no need to see it played out on the screen.

All of that aside, the simplest problem with the movie is that it’s just too damn long. We don’t need to see people say the same thing 4 different ways in a conversation, we don’t need to see every single inch of Belfort crawling while intoxicated, we don’t need a flashback to his driving after getting arrested for a DUI. Basically, in the words of Bruce Willis, this movie is full of “chuffa”. It was one, great big chuffa-fest.

But ya know, there’s plenty of played-out controversy going on, if you’re into that sorta thing.

Banned Alfred Hitchcock Holocaust Documentary Finally Released

The Imperial War Museum says the movie had been suppressed for political reasons and that pieces of it were removed for the 1984 viewing in both Berlin and the U.S., but Alfred Hitchcock’s documentary on the Holocaust has finally been restored to its original intended production and will be released in 2015 on British television marking the 70th anniversary of the liberation of Europe.

During the liberation of the Bergen-Belsen concentration camp in 1945, Hitchcock was asked to put together footage he received by a British army film unit cameraman who shot scenes of the horrible conditions of the camp. The film was to be shown to the German people to shed more light on the atrocities carried out by the Nazis, but was banned due to political unrest in the country after the war.

Pixies Say Kim Deal Is Irreplacable

Back in June 2013, legendary punk band the Pixies released a statement regarding bassist Kim Deal leaving the band.

We are sad to say that Kim Deal has decided to leave the Pixies. We are very proud to have worked with her on and off over the last 25 years. Despite her decision to move on, we will always consider her a member of the Pixies, and her place will always be here for her. We wish her all the best.

Since then, the band has hired Paz Lenchantin (famed bassist of A Perfect Circle) after trying a couple others, but drummer David Lovering told Brooklyn Vegan that they’ll never really be the same without Kim.

When we were in the lurch when Kim Deal left it was a tough decision. Basically, no one can replace Kim Deal. It would be impossible to do. Kim Shattuck, we had actually hired her for the European tour, and that had finished a few weeks ago, and then we had worked with Paz in the past, probably around the same time we were looking at trying to figure out the bassist. Paz is just wonderful. She’s gonna take over for the next portion of it. It’s just what we’ve been doing and hopefully it’ll be good.
